To say it gets hot and humid during Texas summer months in an understatement. And for Texas, “summer” means June to September (sometimes it gets awfully hot in May and October but we have to narrow down the summer months). To help the shooters at Gunsmoke survive the “summer” months, THSS has decided to recognize a “relaxed dress code” for monthly matches held during the months of June through September .
To remain comfortable in the summer THSS will only require period correct western headgear, holster and cowboy legal footwear (Must be closed toe shoes. No sandals or flip flops.). But please remember, this is optional and you are more than welcome to come out in your regular attire if you want to.
So you can wear your regular duds if you want to or, at YOUR OPTION, wear something else to be more comfortable in the heat and humidity.
