Hide Hunter Category Rules

If you want to try something new, then come to THSS. We have been innovators in shooting categories to test the skills of all shooters. The Cody/Dixon category has been a big hit, not only at THSS but at other clubs as well. But the shooter still must decide between their big bore single shot rifle or their big bore lever rifle. Now you don’t have to choose… you can shoot both. Welcome to the “Hide Hunter” category.

For the Hide Hunter category, the shooter follows the standard Cody/Dixon stage scenario except for the rifle instructions and shotgun instructions.

When it’s time to engage the rifle targets, the Hide Hunter will engage the Cody/Dixon targets with both their big bore single shot and lever rifles. They can be shot in any order, it’s up to the shooter to decided which big bore they shoot first. The shooter will shoot 6 rounds for each rifle. The target order for both will be the same as listed in the stage instructions.

The Hide Hunter engages the pistol targets the same as the other shooters. The Hide Hunter will not engage the shotgun targets. All Cody/Dixon rules apply (except shotgun rules). All standard CAS safety, clothing, equipment and costumes rules will apply. Awards for this category will be limited to men’s and women’s only.

The following are the Hide Hunter guidelines that will be incorporating for use at THSS:

  • All SASS and THSS safety rules apply.
  • All SASS main match legal pistols are allowed.
  • All SASS main match legal ammo and powder is allowed.
  • All SASS main match approved calibers are allowed.
