Hello to all THSS members and visitors,

Welcome to the new website of the Texas Historical Shootist Society other wise known as THSS. It has been a long journey to get this site up and I pray that all will enjoy what THSS represents. I know that it has been a long time coming but after the site got up and running this past Friday I spent the better part of the night and early morning getting what information I could updated and in it’s proper place. I still have some work to go and with the way it is set up now all I ask is keep checking on the site as any part of it can change in seconds no matter where I am in the world as long as I have access to internet. I do apologize for taking this long but I do believe it will be well worth it. Once again, thank you all for your patience and understanding. Enjoy the site and I look forward to seeing all of you at Trailhead.

Begin your old west adventure with the Texas Historical Shootist Society, the very first cowboy action shooting club in the state of Texas. Cowboy Action Shooting or Western Action Shooting is target shooting with a twist.  Learn how much fun shooting an old west style pistol or rifle can be while dressed in period garb (1860-1899) and reliving history of the old west cowboys and their ladies.

 ”The Texas Rangers”

The Texas Rangers, were unofficially created in 1823 by Stephen F. Austin in a written call to arms and formally constituted in October 1835. From it’s earliest days, the Rangers mystique  has been one of the Old West. Their image has been one of, well let’s say, a rough, tough, quick drawing individual that served the great State of Texas with honor. Ranger Captain John “Rip” Ford stated this about the men that served with him. “They did right because it was right”
