My wife, Frilly Knickers, and I are experienced Cowboy Action shooters who will be moving to the Austin area as soon as our house sells in Iowa. Both my wife and I have been active participating as posse marshalls and during our annual event, Gunfire in the Hills, as stage drivers. We are both SASS ROII trained and I am a certified RSO through NRA. We may make a trip down to Columbus sometime to see your club!

I would love to get more information about this seemingly interesting place and group. I work with kids in Houston and I just think it would be something that they would enjoy seeing. Please can you forward me any information that I may show. I work at a Christian Sport Camp in the summer and we always have trouble finding interesting places to take the kids. This would be fun and educational,I think!

THSS Members,
I was one of the new visitors to your Sunday (08/20/2006) shoot at Gunsmoke.  I really enjoyed the visit.  Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome and introducing me to the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting.  Looks like lots of fun and I just can't imagine a friendlier bunch of people.  Hope to see you again.  BTW, the website is great!

Great site, wish I could come over there and join in. We do fastdraw in England but on small knockdown targets at a few feet using the power of the blank cartridge through the barrel, man v man. It still gets the adrenaline running!!!   Love the competition.

I am very impressed by your website and club. I have e-mailed a link to your website to match directors here in Florida and one in Colorado I used to shoot with. Your buildings you have in your "wild west town" look incredible. Shooting at your club must be like stepping back in time and feeling like you're there. If I'm ever heading to TX I'm going to want to visit your club for a shoot. Great Job Guys! Your website is a lot of fun with all the pictures, music and areas to explore. I hope SASS is aware of all your efforts. Keep up the good work.

I would like to join at some point. I don't have the required firearms yet. I saw the requirements about the two pistols, and the rifle and shotgun, but do I need the rifle and shotgun in addition to the two pistols??? Also which pistols are the most favored at the shoots, cap and ball or cartridge??? I like both! Probably the cartridge model is less work.

Former member checking when Trailhead was.  Your website is great. My husband, Tim Graves, and I are former members and were actually married at a monthly shoot in May 1994.  I write with very sad news for the old timers that were around then. My brother, Butch Balcomb, aka Thumbless Bill, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 11, 2006. He was a very active member for a long time.  Butch was a great guy and is going to be greatly missed by a lot of people. Tim and I are planning on attending Trailhead this year in honor of Butch - if there is anyone who remembers my brother, we'd love to share and hear some stories - I bet there are a bunch of them!

You really have a wonderful website here to be proud of. It really takes alot of time and creativity. What a neat website. My sister lives in Gainesville TX and my wife and I are coming down to visit her and family 3rd week of October. Was looking around to see if there's any cowboy shoots when we woud be there. Columbus is about 6 hours from Gainesville I understand so probably won't make it. I sure would if I could 'cause the Wild Bunch has always tweaked my interest. If we can, I would come just to watch. Maybe next year? depending on gas prices.

We met Linda Hass today at her shop. We were having a Doolittle matted and framed and began to talk with her. this is a well laid out website and we will be there sunday to observe and check out. We have live the mountain man life for nearly nine years in the northwest woods of montana, wood for heat, wood to cook with, reading by kerosene lamps and as for running water, that depended on how fast the kids had to get back to the cabin from the spring (bears and lions).

Hey Miss Linda, you’ve done a great job on our club website.
There are so many parts to it that I find interesting, it will take me
some time to check it all out. I’m especially proud to share it with
potential “Cowboy Action Shooters”! Already, I’ve sent it to my
daughter-in-law’s brother in N.C. so he can get a better understanding
of Cowboy Action.. He will be meeting us in N.C. to attend the shoot
Dogie and I will make at Salisbury, N.C., September 1st – 3rd, The
Uprising at Swearing Creek. It’s the SASS N.C. State Championship.
That should give him a good taste of Cowboy Action Shooting don’t you
think?

Also, I was able to share it today with our friends that visited
Gunsmoke last month. They were so impressed with the facility and all
the fine folks they met.

Thanks so much for your efforts. It’s neat to tell someone about us,
and now to have a website that is so informative and helpful.
Blessings,

I am very proud of this new site. It is put together very well, entertaining and colorful. Our web-mistresses, Linda Haas, aka, Country Girl Linda and Mamie Fossett, aka, Carla Boyd have done a tremendous and incredible job with the new site. They both have spent countless hours working on this new site and one can tell it was truly a "labor of love". I want to personally thank you both and want you to know how much you are appreciated.

Every THSS member needs to thank these two very special ladies for all of their hard work and dedication. These two ladies certainly exemplify the "Cowboy Spirit"! I know each THSS member will be very proud of this new site and will enjoy it.

Site looks very good and is set up well. Country Girl, you and the other people that helped did an excellent job with this project. I thank all of you. THSS is the oldest Club in the state of Texas and the same could be said for the previous website. Although it was a very good one when it was created, it definately was in need of improvement, and more consistant updating. Once again, thank you for the effort and for upgrading the image of THSS on the web.

Special Thanks to all the THSS members of the  Officers and Board for their help and support while building  our new revised version of THSS.ORG website.  A special Thanks, to my assistant, Mamie Fosset, for asking me to help build then leaving me with it. She has been and is very supportive. She gathered photos, and articles for history, Wild Bunch and Herman's story and for checking the Links and keeping them up to date.  Another special thanks is to my long time teck friend Dixedi that I  met on MS Groups>FrontPage Designs.  Because of her, our site is  better and much more secure.  Last but far from least,  thanks to my sweet husband, Danny Ringo,  that freed up my extra hours, encouraged and supported me through the whole process.
